Dr. Martin Lautman is the former Chairman and CEO of GfK Custom Research North America. GfK, headquartered in Nuremburg, Germany, is the fourth largest marketing consulting, marketing research and information company in the world, with offices in over 100 countries. His first job after receiving his Ph.D., was as software engineer developing battlefield computer simulation programs for the Department of Defense.
Over the past 10 years, Dr. Lautman has engaged in private investments and marketing consulting bringing the principles of marketing strategy and Big Data to accelerate corporate growth. He has served on the board of multiple private, family-owned and public companies. Currently, he is a Venture Partner in four early stage venture funds, including Musketeer Capital, which he helped found.
Dr. Lautman received his Ph.D. degree in Mathematical Psychology (Behavioral Economics) from The Pennsylvania State University and is a graduate of the Executive Education MBA Program of The Harvard Business School. He has taught advanced courses and lectured on marketing at the undergraduate, MBA and Exec. Ed. level at multiple Universities, including The Cornell University Hotel School, The Wharton School of Business, Princeton, Columbia University Business School, and The Smeal Business School of The Pennsylvania State University.
